Body recovered
On August 13, body of Jacob B Marak (45) was recovered from Balughat village in South West Garo Hills.

Man assaulted
A complaint was lodged that miscreants assaulted Kabat Ali (31) at Barengapara weekly market in West Garo Hills. Victim sustained grievous injuries and was shifted to CHC Barengapara for treatment.

Man held for demanding money
Graham Lyngdoh of Tuber Kmai Shnong, West Jaintia Hills, lodged a complaint that on August 12, he received an anonymous phone call, wherein the caller demanded Rs. 30 lakh and threatened him with dire consequences. In this connection, Police arrested Ram Mulieh

FIR for physically abusing woman
A complaint was lodged that on August 9 at 11 am, Niwat Tang assaulted a woman namely, Iaineh Sten. The accused also threatened the VDP members of Thadmuthlong village in West Jaintia Hills with dire consequences.

Miscreants attack man in WGH
Sohidur Alom lodged a complaint that on August 8 around 5.30 pm, three persons viz. Tofazzol Hoque, Sahajammal Sheikh and Johirul Hoque assaulted him with iron rods and daggers while he was on his way from Patakata Market to Ketadowa village, West Garo Hills.

Materials worth over Rs 4 lakh stolen
Utta Kumar Thapa lodged a complaint that on August 6, miscreants stole materials valued around Rs. 4,61,000 from a telecom tower at Laitkor Lumheh, East Khasi Hills.
