Nongpoh: Following opposition from the Seng Samla of Umlangpur Killing against the proposed move of the Kukis to acquire a huge plot of land in the village, the Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF), Byrnihat circle on Thursday unanimously decided to extend their support to the youth body of the village.
“Though we respect our tribal Kuki friends, but buying a huge plot of land for building a colony is not welcome by the organization” president of HNYF Byrnihat circle Iaineh Wahlang said.
Wahlang said that the organization demanded the traditional chief of Raid Marwet and the local headman of Umlangpur Killing not to issue No Objection Certificate to the proposed land deal, adding that the organization will also take up the matter with the District Administration of Ri Bhoi and the KHADC.
