MAWKYRWAT: A 43-year-old man was arrested in South West Khasi Hills on Tuesday for allegedly raping his five-year-old stepdaughter.
According to the FIR filed by the headmistress of the school where the child is studying, the incident came to light after the five-year-old confessed to one of the teachers that she had been raped by her stepfather, Elbarin Syiemlieh, since February.
‘The child has always complained of severe pain in her abdomen that led to the confession of the crime committed by her stepfather,” the FIR said.
A case has been registered against the accused and investigation into the matter is on, SP HG Lyngdoh said.
