Man attacks son with Machete in EGH, arrested

 TURA: A man has been arrested for attacking his son with a machete and causing injuries in a village in East Garo Hills, according to a delayed report received here.

The incident had taken place at Megagre Songgitcham Village under Samanda Block of the district in which Babula N Sangma (40) attacked his 15 year old son, Guilt N Marak. Following the incident, villagers filed a complaint with police on August 16 and the accused was soon arrested.

Earlier, news reports had stated that the victims hand was completely cut off but police denied it and informed that he suffered only minor injuries. The victim who was hospitalized has since been discharged after the treatment of his wounds, they added.
