Accident
On August 18 around 5:30pm, one motorcycle (ML-14-3913) ridden by Kuldeep Singh (28) met with an accident at Chiringpara village in South West Garo Hills. One pillion rider identified as Nabiul Karim (28) died on the spot.
On August 16, one Water tanker (ML-05P-8769) driven by Sanker Niangti capsized at Jingkieng Nongthymmai. As a result, one female pedestrian sustained injuries and was taken to Bethany Hospital.
Banteilang Lyngdoh Mawlot (23) fell out of a moving bus at Kachari 10:52 am on Monday. The victim sustained was taken to Civil Hospital by a Lawmali-base 108 ambulance .

On August 16, unknown miscreants set fire to one motorcycle (AS-01AX-2297) near Mahatma Gandhi University at 14th Mile in Ri Bhoi.
Assault
Johny Mondol (32) lodged a complaint stating that on August 15, unidentified miscreants broke into his house at Bagicha village in South West Garo Hills Hills and attacked him with sharp objects. The attackers also fled with Rs 2,500 cash and a cell-phone.
Marlyn Khriem (36) was assaulted with a blunt object by her husband’s friend for trying to stop her husband from accompanying the friend at Dhanketi around 11:17 pm on Sunday. The victim was taken to Civil Hospital by a Shillong-based 108 ambulance.
Death
Shrintina Mawlieh lodged a complaint stating that on August 17 around 8:00am, her elder brother Stelder Mawlieh slipped and fell at ‘Pung Mawthar’ under Nongstoin PS and died on the spot.
D Pariong, Headman of Mawiong Lumsyntiew village in West Khasi Hills lodged an FIR stating that Kenedy Lyngdoh Nonglait (18) was found lying dead in the village on August 17.
Fraud
R Ingty lodged a complaint stating that on August 11, he had received a phone call from one woman who identified herself as Swasti Desai also known as Neha, wherein she asked him about his ATM details. The complainant later found that Rs 33,649 had been withdrawn from his account.
Missing
Sapna D Sangma lodged a complaint stating that on July 18 around 4:30 pm, her thirteen year old minor daughter went missing from their residence at Rymbai village in East Jaintia Hills.
Theft
On August 19 around 8:30am, unknown miscreants stole a music system from a vehicle belonging to Daenunon Tongper Malang which was parked at Don Bosco Square.
Bailantstar Basaiawmoit lodged a complaint stating that on August 18, unknown miscreants stole electrical equipment from Upper Lachumiere Sub-Station.
Raja Alam lodged a complaint stating that on August 17, unknown miscreants stole Rs 20,000 cash and gold ornaments from his house at Jhalupara.
On August 16, unknown miscreants stole a purse belonging to Lalthamieng Hmar containing Rs 1,12,800 cash from her residence at Happy Valley.
Jeetu K Sangma lodged a complaint on August 16 stating that two unknown miscreants arrived at her petrol pump near Mendipathar in North Garo Hills and stole one bag containing cash. Workers of the petrol pump managed to apprehend one of the accused, while the other escaped.
On August 15 unknown miscreants broke into the godown of Prakash Chand Surana at Paltan Bazar, Iewmawlong and stole cans of mustard oil valued at Rs 18,165.
A Khongwir, SDO, PHE (Rural Water Supply Scheme), Nongstoin Sub-Division lodged a complaint stating that on August 15, unknown miscreants broke into the office of the Executive Engineer, PHE at Nongstoin with the intention of committing a robbery.
On August 13, unknown miscreants stole one Bolero pick-up (ML-10A-8181) belonging to Manaj Kumar Pareek from L&T Project, NEIGRIHMS.
Threat
Wildoris Langrin of Mawthylliang village under Mawshynrut PS, West Khasi Hills lodged a complaint on August 17 stating thaton two different occasions she had received two letters in which the unknown sender demanded Rs 40,000 from her and also threatened her with dire consequences.
