Rozgar Mela held in Nongpoh

Nongpoh: The Care Education and Welfare Society (CEWS) held the ‘Rozgar Mela’ inside the Mahatma Gandhi University campus in Byrnihat on Monday.
More than 500 job aspirants from CEWS attended the event and appeared for interviews for more than 10 companies such as Wazir, Prag Continental, Khadims, State Bank of India, O2 spa and others.
Nongpoh MLA Mayralborn Syiem attended the inaugural programme as the chief guest accompanied by Nongpoh Block Congress President Plielad Tiewsoh and Mahatma Gandhi University Chancellor Rajan Chopra.
Addressing the gathering, Syiem lauded the initiatives taken by the CEWS and the University in organizing such an event for the students who have completed various job-oriented training in different trades being offered by the CEWS.
Appreciating the efforts of the CEWS towards promoting education in the state, Syiem said: “As Shillong is one of the main educational hubs of the North East, it is very commendable on the efforts put forward by the officials and staff of the University for its vision and dedication towards uplifting the education sector in the state in particular and tbe northeastern region and the country as a whole.”
Mahatma Gandhi University Chancellor Rajan Chopra addressed the students and urged them to work harder and to ensure themselves a bright future ahead.
Around 200 students were selected in various occupational streams marking the success of the mela.
