SWGH readies for MRV campaign

TURA: Preparations are on in full swing for the upcoming Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign (MRVC) across the district of South West Garo Hills with series of activities, including training and orientation programmes being conducted at the district level as well as blocks and CHC and PHC levels.

On Monday, Block-level Orientation Programme and Training on MRVC was conducted for school principals, headmasters/headmistresses and nodal teachers at Betasing block headquarters. The training was conducted by WHO Consultant Dr Santosh Sahoo in the presence of district Health officials and Education officials. More than 400 heads of schools and nodal attended the training.

Similar orientation and training programme on MRVC for school principals and nodal teachers has earlier been conducted at Ampati at the district level as well as Zikzak block and are continuing in all the CHCs and PHCs across district.

Meanwhile Block Core Group meeting on MRVC are also being held in all the three blocks of the district for discussing pre-campaign preparedness and sort out practical problems at their level to ensure full success of the campaign.

Separate training programmes for the Health workers and Anganwadi workers are also being conducted at different PHCs and CHCs in the district since the past two weeks. Intensive IEC activities are also being undertaken at all levels for spreading awareness about the campaign with the sole objective of making the district free of measles and rubella diseases.
