One killed, 6 injured in separate accidents
On August 8 at about 10.30 am, a truck (ML-05P-5966) driven by Francis Kharumnuid (27) met with an accident at Mawkhap (EKH). As a result, the driver and two occupants sustained injuries. Later, one of the occupants Khrawlang Khongwet succumbed to his injuries.
On August 20 at 5.40 pm, a car (ML-10C-1814) went off the road at Umsaw-Nongkharai in Ri Bhoi. As a result, one of the occupants sustained injuries.
On August 16 around 2.45 pm, a truck (NL-01G-6347) driven by Ban Sana dashed against another truck (NL-01K-1813) driven by Rajak Ali at Tuber village. As a result, Ali sustained injuries.
On August 15 around 1.30 pm, an accident took place between a motorcycle (ML-05M-4730) ridden by Vicky Kuri (21) and a Maruti van (ML-05Q-6711) driven by Kroilang Khongmalai (47) at Wahtyrsaw, Shillong-Tamabil Road, NH-40 (EKH). As a result, the driver and motorcycle rider sustained injuries and were shifted to CHC Pynursla.

Electrocution
On August 11 around 8.30 pm, a 11,000 KV electric wire snapped and fell on a truck (ML-04-7905) driven by Fasting Syngkli (36), in a place under Shella PS (EKH). As a result, the driver died on the spot. Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver was handed over to the relatives.

Quarry worker dies
On August 6 at 3.30 pm, Manius A Sangma (28) fell down and sustained injuries, while he was working in a limestone quarry at Dalda, Mawlong (EKH). He was shifted to NEIGRIHMS, where he succumbed to his injuries on August 11.
Man sexually harasses city woman
A woman from Mawlai Motsyiar, Shillong, lodged a complaint that on August 16 around 11.29 am, a Facebook account belonging to Samuel Syiem uploaded a nude picture (Photoshop with her picture). Further, the accused has been mentally and sexually harassing the complainant, since February.

Assault
Diganta Das lodged a complaint that on August 19 around 1.05 am, five miscreants in three two-wheelers blocked the road at Fire Brigade junction, Laitumkhrah and when the complainant asked them to park their two-wheelers properly, the miscreants assaulted him, snatched his car keys and broke the windshield of his car.

Wife abducted
Bioles Dkhar lodged a complaint that on August 15 at 8.15 pm, her husband Dominic Synnah abducted her and threatened her and family members with dire consequences. The accused also used to assault her children and attempted to murder her.

Cattle stolen
Sparling Synthem lodged a complaint that on the night of August 17, miscreants stole two heads of cattle from his cowshed at Umsaw-Nongbri village Ri Bhoi.

Miscreants steal batteries
On August 16, miscreants stole twenty-four batteries from the mobile tower of M/s Bharti Infratel Ltd., near Mawsynram.
