Shylla sends letter for bill recall

SHILLONG: The chief executive member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council, HS Shylla, sent a letter to recall both the KHAD (Khasi Social Custom of Lineage) (First and Second Amendment) Bills on Tuesday.
When contacted, Shylla informed that the letter was sent to the state government only on Tuesday as he was in Nongjri on Monday.
An official with the District Council Affairs Department said the bills will be sent back to KHADC shortly.
The KHADC has decided to recall both the amendment bills of the social custom of lineage act to remove contradictions following criticisms from several quarters.
