Govt yet to reply to Shylla letter on lineage bills

SHILLONG: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) chief executive member, HS Shylla, said no official communication has been received yet from the state government on the KHAD (Khasi Social Custom of Lineage) (First and Second Amendment) Bills.
Shylla had sent a letter to recall both the amendment bills to the state government. “By next week, we are likely to get it,” he said.
The KHADC has decided to recall both the amendment bills of the social custom of lineage act to remove contradictions following criticisms from several quarters.
