SHILLONG: A major disaster was averted thanks to the timely intervention of the fire service men after a meter box developed a short circuit at a city restaurant on Saturday evening.
Police said smoke and fire began to emanate from The Grub, a popular eatery in Laitumkhrah. Fire service arrived on time and cut the electric wires.
Police, however, said it was not a fire incident but a mere short circuit.
