Dorbar Hima to be held after 18 years on Sept 7

SHILLONG: After a gap of 18 years, the office of Hima Mylliem will organise the Dorbar Hima on September 7, 2018 at Fifth ground, Polo, Dalang field premises 11 am.

This was announced by the Acting chief of Hima Mylliem, Pa’iem Ainam Manik Syiem along with his group of Ministers. He told reporters, “The Hima Mylliem will organise the Dorbar Hima and we invite the elders and ministers of the Hima, traditional heads and residents falling under the jurisdiction of Hima Mylliem.”

“The last Dorbar was held in the year 2000. Having worked together with the District Council, we hope that the Dorbar Hima will be successful,” he said.

According to him, the Dorbar Hima is indispensable for its administration forming a part of the customary practice of Hima Mylliem.

Syiem further said, “The markets falling under Hima Mylliem will remain close on the day of the Dorbar Hima especially Iewduh and will re-open after the Dorbar Hima concludes.”
