Assault
On August 25 around 7:30pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted Bijendro M Sangma (61) with sharp weapons between Rajarongat Nokpante and Boldamgre village in North Garo Hills. The victim was admitted at Civil Hospital in Tura

Extortionist arrested
On August 25, Police arrested one Nikson D Sangma also known as Anik (24) in connection with an extortion case. Sangma also lead police into recovering one Chinese pistol and one magazine from a jungle at Tapragre village in West Garo Hills.

Fraud
Sananda Naug lodged a complaint stating that she had received an anonymous phone call from an alleged bank representative, asking for her ATM details. Later, the complainant received a text message informing her that Rs 39,000 had been debited from her bank account.

Theft
On August 26, unknown miscreants broke into the residence of Evelyne Kurbah at Laitkor, Nongdaneng and stole Rs 10,000 cash, one gold ring, one cell phone and one laptop.
Kynsai June Mawlong lodged a complaint stating that on August 25, his Bolero Pick-up (ML-06-8524) was stolen from Shangbangla in Ri Bhoi.
On August 24, unknown miscreants broke into the residence of Tulika Sonowal at Dongkadiang, Nongmensong, and stole one laptop.
On August 24, unknown miscreants broke into the SSA office at Mawshynrut in West Khasi Hills and stole amplifiers and other sound system equipment.
