SHILLONG: The resident doctors of NEIGRIHMS have decided to defer its protest till September 1.

It was informed that a meeting was held on Monday between Dean (In charge  Director) of the institute and all the heads of the department  (HoDs) whereby responsibility of  persuading the residents of the department of Cardiology to keep the strike on hold was given to the HoD of Cardiology.

Following this, another meeting took place on Tuesday between the residents and HoD of the Cardiology.

The residents have also asked the institute Director to communicate with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and give them a solution as soon as possible failing which they would be compelled to take up democratic way of protest against the administration.

Earlier, the resident doctors of the Cardiology Department at NEIGRIHMS had decided to stop all OPD services and academic activities from August 28 unless their grievances are addressed
