SHILLONG: Irked with the attitude of many cabbies who refuse to pick up passengers during rush hours, the enforcement wing of the Transport department for the last two days conducted an exercise in Khyndaild and forced local drivers to accept passengers.
It was seen that enforcement sleuths of the department helped passengers in boarding the local taxis as many times taxi drivers in the city refuse to board passengers even when their taxis are vacant. Some passengers said that similar exercise should be conducted in other important locations of the city as well during the rush hours.
