SHILLONG: The resident doctors of NEIGRIHMS have decided to defer their protest till September 1.
A meeting was held on Monday between the Dean (in-charge Director) of the institute and all the head of the departments whereby responsibility of persuading the residents of the department of Cardiology to keep the strike on hold was given to the respective head.
Following this, another meeting took place on Tuesday between the residents and the head of Cardiology department.
The resident doctors have also asked the institute’s director to communicate with  the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and give them a solution as soon as possible failing which they will be compelled to resort to democratic means of protest.
Earlier, the resident doctors of the Cardiology department at NEIGRIHMS had decided to stop all OPD services and academic activities from August 28 unless their grievances are addressed.
