Khongwir back as headman

SHILLONG: Prominent leader S D Khongwir was again elected as the headman of Mawlai Nonglum.
Earlier on January 3, Khongwir was felicitated as the headman of Mawlai Nonglum, Durbar Shnong for 50 years.
However, recently he was confirmed again as headman with a voice of consensus. After celebrating his golden jubilee as headman, Khongwir, 85, had offered to get another headman to replace him, but the Durbar did not want to him to go.
