‘NE people need exercise, physiotherapy aid’

SHILLONG: people in the North East are more prone to obesity and cancer due to food habits and lifestyle and people in the region need to do regular physical  while now there  is a concerted efforts  to make people aware about the benefits of physiotherapy  which can be beneficial in treatment of many sickness.

It has been observed by the Indian Association of Physiotherapists, Meghalaya Branch that will also observe WORLD Physiotherapy Day on September 8 by conducting various programmes.

Indian Association of Physiotherapists, Meghalaya Branch, Secretary,   Dr Bidhan C Sharma  said that   they would  organise a   physiotherapy  free camp with bone  mineral density test   on September 7 at Shillong Civil Hospital

On August  8,  walkathon will also be held in Shillong    besides a workshop to create awareness on the   lifestyle disease and the effects of exercise on such diseases.

The theme of this year’s celebration is:   Physiotherapy for fit India, Exercise is the best medicine.
