CRPF special DG asks officials to encourage locals to join army

SHILLONG: CRPF Special DG of NE Zone Prabhat Singh visited the 67 Battalion Polo Ground and NE Sector, CRPF, Shillong on Saturday and met IG North East Prakash D and other senior officials.
Singh emphasised on publicising the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) recruitment in the North East, especially in Meghalaya, through local bodies like Khasi Students’ Union so that eligible candidates from Khasi, Garo and Janitia tribes come forward for opportunities in CRPF, SSB, ITBP and BSF.
The SDG further asked the CRPF local commanders to maintain close co-ordination with the state police and intelligence agencies.
The top official, while reviewing the security arrangements with local CRPF officer during the visit, also discussed about troops deployment during the by-election in Meghalaya and NRC duty in Assam, and civic action programme to be carried out by CRPF in the North East.
