Woman Kills husband
Kokrajhar: A woman allegedly killed her husband with a sharp weapon following a quarrel over a family dispute in Kokrajhar district on Sunday, police said. The incident took place at Daloabari Tea garden in the district where the accused woman killed Atoa Bake (40) today at her home with a sharp weapon, police said. The woman has been arrested, police said. (PTI)
Journo defamed using fake FB account in Tripura
Ambassa (Tripura): In a bid to curb the spirit of the media fraternity, a journalist has been defamed making derogatory remarks in a fake Facebook account about which a complaint has already been registered with the local police in the bordering subdivision of Kamalpur in the northern district of Dhalai here recently. According to the complaint, the correspondent of local news channel PB 24 and Bengali daily Kalamer Shakti, Badal Deb has been defamed from a Facebook account of one Reshmi Deb. The account holder has made derogatory remarks defaming him. But as the account holder has claimed herself as a resident of Kamalpur, no such person exists here as Badal has claimed. In fact, it has been taken as a hineous measure to hurt and curb the indomitable spirit of the journos at large. And many have linked the incident after media’s strict role against some unhappy incidents recent times here. (UNI)
Workshop on technology in Nagaland
Kohima: A one-day workshop on ‘Technologies of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre’ was conducted at the School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development (SASRD) of Nagaland University at Medziphema under Dimapur district on Saturday, organised by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) Technologies Display and Dissemination Facility (DTDDF) SASRD. According to a statement issued by the DAE on Sunday informed that 75 post graduate students participated in the workshop. An exercising authority of DTDDF, Dr. NK Patra, spoke on scientific research and societal activities of the DAE and activities of DTDDF which has been functioning in collaboration with BARC in Mumbai. Dr. Patra gave a brief introduction of BARC and their domain of works such as nuclear technology, bio-medics, agriculture, food security, environment, and health. He also highlighted about the available technologies with DTDDF. (UNI)
