Mawkyrwat MLA inspects roads at Mawten in WKH

Mawkyrwat: Mawkyrwat MLA and Meghalaya Industries Development Corporation (MIDC) Chairman, Renik L. Tongkhar along with officials of PWD (Roads) on Wednesday inspected the conditions of the existing roads in Mawten village, South West Khasi Hills District which are in bad condition and were not repaired for quite sometime.
The inspection was part of the preparation to improve the road communication in the village which will also hold the Youth Assembly service of the Church of God (M&A) on January 2019.
Speaking to reporters, the MLA informed that the office of the Executive Engineer (EE) PWD (Roads), Mawkyrwat Division had already sent a proposed estimate of Rs 1 crore to the government through the general schemes for blacktopping the roads which is about 5.14 kms.
Tongkhar also said that he has put this road in his priority list since it coincides with the Youth Assembly service in January and has assured to follow-up and ensure that it gets sanctioned on time so that it will benefit the general public of Mawten village.
Others who were present during the inspection include Executive Engineer PWD (Roads) Mawkywat Division, M. Mawthoh, President of the HSPDP Mawkyrwat Area unit, Nolip Lyngdoh, Myntri of Mawten village, Loving Lyngdoh.
