Lok Adalat
The District & Sessions Judge-Cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh informed that a National Lok Adalat will be organised on all types of cases at the office of the District & Session Judge, Ri-Bhoi District, Nongpoh on September 8 from 10 am onwards. All parties concerned are requested to participate in the upcoming National Lok Adalat.
Local holiday
The Deputy Commissioners of Ri Bhoi District, West Jaintia Hills District and East Jaintia Hills district has declared September 18 as local holiday on account of Unitarian Anniversary Day. All state government offices, revenue and magisterial courts and educational institutions located in these districts will remain closed on this day.
Conference
The surgeons of the North Eastern States consisting of Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh & Sikkim has formed the “North East Chapter of Association of Surgeons of India” & are organising the first conference “NECASICON 2018” on September 8 and 9 at the State Convention Centre, Pinewood Hotel. Minister of Health, AL Hek will formally inaugurate the conference and there will be a live Surgical Workshop for the Surgeons at Nazareth Hospital, Shillong.
Workshop
A workshop on Poshan Abhiyan was conducted at Bhaitbari Hr. Sec School, New Bhaitbari on Thursday. It was launched by the Govt of India on March 8 and the purpose of the programme is to boost nutrition among children and women. It aims to ensure holistic development and adequate nutrition for pregnant women, mothers and children.
Resignation
The Finance Secretary of the Garo Hills State Movement Committee (GHSMC) from West Garo Hills, Henyshing A Sangma on Thursday resigned from his post.In his letter of resignation to GHSMC Chairman, Nikman Ch Marak, Sangma cited personal grounds as the reason for his stepping down from the post.
