SHILLONG: The city police will investigate whether the recent brawl at Lapalang is linked to drug deals.
One person has already been arrested in connection with the fight. One man who tried to stop the fight was hit by a bullet.
East Khasi Hills SP Davis Marak said police would have to investigate and establish if the incident has any links to drugs mafia.
“Right now it’s a speculation,” he said, adding that though the main person has been arrested police would continue its investigation and look for some more arrests.
Police arrested Oristar Mawnai (27) and seized the weapon allegedly used in the incident from his possession.
Pynskhembor Kharmawlong, a resident of Nongrah Lummarboh, was hit by a bullet when he was trying to stop the brawl between two groups.
