One killed in city road mishap

SHILLONG: A 26-year-old youth lost his life after being involved in a deadly accident near Step By Step School here on Tuesday afternoon

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic)  Walsal Momin said that the youth  Tutun Dhar (26) was travelling with his friend in a two wheeler when his friend riding the scooty tried to overtake a military truck and hit a car coming from the opposite direction.

On impact the Tutun who was riding pillion fell under the wheels of the truck. The official  said that a case has been registered and the truck driver had been arrested

“The body has been sent for post mortem which will be conducted tomorrow at the Shillong Civil Hospital,” Momin  informed.

The deceased is a resident of Mawprem.
