Commissioner interacts with VECs at Resubelpara

TURA: The Commissioner & Secretary of C & R D Department, Sampath Kumar on Wednesday visited Resubelpara in North Garo Hills district where he  interacted with the Village Employment Councils , Presidents, Secretaries, Nokmas & Sordars and Job Card Holders regarding the several schemes being taken up by the Resubelpara C & RD Block at SGSY Hall.

During the interaction, Kumar emphasized the gathering on the importance of Self Help Group (SHG) which according to him acts as a Saving Group enabling the people to save money to be able to meet the expenses in the near future. Urging the women groups in particular to form SHG, he said that SHG will develop into Village Organisation (VO) thereby empowering the women groups to act as a bank as the main purpose of forming VO is to save money.

Earlier he also visited Resubelpara Block field namely; Chimatcha, Nolbari and Boromiapara where he lauded the VECs for their developmental work adding that “these villages should be taken as role models for the rest of the villages in the area so as to escalate the work progress and achieve what has been targeted”.

Schemes discussed during the meeting were MGNREGA, PMAY G, NRLM and NSAP. Later, a wrap up meeting was also held with the heads of all line departments at the Circuit House, Resubelpara.
