SHILLONG: The Opposition Congress will raise the issue of Them Metor (Harijan Colony) in the upcoming autumn session of the Assembly scheduled to begin from September 21.
Congress spokesperson HM Shangpliang said the Opposition is going to raise the matter “very strongly” since the state government has not been able to end the deadlock.”We recently had a CLP meeting where we have decided to take up issues in the session relating to the problems and concerns of the people,” he said.
The party would also flag the problems of farmers, besides law and order.
In addition, the Congress will also talk about SSA school teachers whose salary has not been paid for months. Traffic congestion, which was the contentious issue even during the previous government, will also be taken up.
The autumn session of the Assembly will continue till September 27. Government business has been allotted for September 21, 25 and 27, while private members’ business has been slated for September 24 and 26.
