Inter-college chess tournament

SHILLONG: The 1st Inter-College Chess tournament organised by Buddha Bhanu Saraswati College will conclude on Saturday. The competition is being organised to commemorate the silver jubilee anniversary of the college. S Rana, Principal of BBS College inaugurated the event. Chief Fide Arbiter Th B Singh, G Chakraborty and Senior National Chess Arbiter A Bhandari conducted the games. The Meghalaya Chess Association and N.E.H.U Sports Department are providing the technical support for the event. The final will be held at Mani Singh Gurung Auditorium (Gorkha Pathshala Higher Secondary School) from 9:00 am onwards while the prize distribution will be at 2:30 pm. Sanbor Shullai, Deputy Speaker, Government of Meghalaya will be present as the chief guest during the closing ceremony. State level participants from different colleges are participating in the tournament as well.
