Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra on Friday called upon the security agencies of the northeastern states to maintain close coordination to contain insurgency in the region.
Addressing the 25th Conference of DGPs, IGPs and heads of central police organisations of the northeastern states at Darbar Hall in Raj Bhawan here, he cautioned that delayed action, no action or live and let live policy towards insurgents, in some cases, are likely to erode the confidence of people in security organisations.
The governor also called upon the DGPs to convene regular meetings to resolve interstate issues. Speaking about vulnerability of boys, girls and women in the orphanages and shelter houses, the governor advised the police to take suo motu action and carry out proper checking. (PTI)
