Lapang accorded warm felicitation on arrival from Delhi

NONGPOH: Former Meghalaya chief minister and veteran state Congress leader D D Lapang who has just resigned from the Congress party, was accorded warm welcome at Byrnihat in his home district of Ri Bhoi on his arrival from New Delhi on Monday.
A large number of leaders from various political parties and organizations felicitated Lapang on his arrival. However, Congress MLAs from Ri Bhoi were conspicuous by their absence in the felicitation programme.
Former Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), C B Syiem , who is a member of the ruling National People’s Party (NPP) was among those who were part of the felicitation programme.
