3 electrocuted in state

SHILLONG/ NONGSTOIN: Three persons lost their lives from electrocution in separate incidents in the state.
Livingstone Pariong (22) of Ramsngiwar, Rambrai under West Khasi Hills was struck by lightning while he was fishing with his wife at a paddy field at Wahdeiniong Lawbyrtun on Tuesday afternoon. He died on the spot.
Inquest was conducted on the spot and the body was handed over to relatives after the family obtained a post mortem exemption order passed by a magistrate.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that the deceased came to Lawbyrtun village on September 15 to visit his son studying in a school at Lawbyrtun.
Earlier on September 13, Pynshai Thyrniang (19) of Rangblang Sohryniang village in South West Khasi Hills District was brought dead at Ichamati CHC. During inquiry it was established that the deceased had come in contact with live wire at Dangar Tyllap village.
A day earlier, Moonstarson Sumer of Mawshun village in East Khasi Hills District came in contact with live wire in a power sub station at Pongtung village under Pynursla police station.
He was shifted to Pongtung PHC where the Medical Officer declared him brought dead.
