SHILLONG: The Congress on Wednesday said while the leadership issue will be decided by the coalition partners after the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the party would like to see Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Minister of the country.
In a statement on Wednesday, Opposition Chief Whip and Congress MLA PT Sawkmie said the situation in the country demands unity among political parties to fight against the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. “Who should be the Prime Minister will be decided by the political parties after the outcome of the polls,” Sawkmie said, adding that this is the current views of the political parties.
According to Sawkmie, the Congress looks forward to the support of voters who, according to the Congress MLA, will bless the party so that the Congress gets more MPs.
“The party would like to see Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Minister of the country,” he added.
