SHIILONG: United Democratic Party (UDP), the main ally of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA), will felicitate all its MLAs and MDCs at a function to be held at Byndihati village in East Jaintia Hills district on Saturday.
The party presently has seven legislators in the 60-member Assembly. According to party leaders, the two Independent legislators – SK Sun and Samuel Sangma – who are associate members of the UDP will also be felicitated during the ceremony besides the MDCs in the two autonomous district councils of Khasi and Jaintia Hills region.
The function will be attended by party chief Donkupar Roy, who is also Assembly Speaker and other leaders.
