Don Bosco Technical School inaugurated in Nongstoin

Shillong: Don Bosco Technical School Nongstoin, a branch of Don Bosco Technical School Shillong was inaugurated on Friday by Umesh Muktieh, State Director of Industries and Commerce who was the chief guest. The institution was blessed by Bishop Victor Lyngdoh of Jowai Diocese who was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said West Khasi Hills has been neglected for many years so the institution is a ‘gift given by the Salesians of Don Bosco’ and urged the youths to make use of it.
He also expressed disappointment over few organisations who were blocking the development of the district by calling curfews while construction of the institution was underway.
The inauguration which lasted for two hours saw speeches from various eminent people accompanied by songs and dances to add colour to the day.
Others who attened the event includes Bishop Victor Lyngdoh of Jowai Diocese, Father Paul O Lyngkot Provincial of Shillong Province, Fr. George Maliekal, former Provincial, Fr. Wilbert Thyrniang, the VG of Nongstoin diocese, priests and religious leaders and hundreds of young people.
