CRPF jawan commits suicide in Assam’s Sonitpur district
Tezpur: A CRPF jawan allegedly committed suicide on Sunday at the Jaimati Pathar camp in Sonitpur district, police said. According to police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan allegedly fired from his INSAS rifle inside the camp under Tezpur police station Sunday morning and died on the spot. The jawan has been identified as Digambar Madhab (40), who hailed from Mumbai. Police said the reason behind his suicide was not immediately known and an investigation is on. Madhab’s body has been sent to his home after conducting post-mortem at the Tezpur Kanaklata Civil Hospital. (PTI)

Manipur chief minister launches PMJAY-Ayushman Bharat
Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Sunday launched the healthcare scheme “Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana- Ayushman Bharat” in the state. The chief minister said, “Such initiative of our visionary leader Prime Minister would create a new history in the health sector of the country.” He mentioned that around 50 crore people would be benefiting under this scheme in the country. It is a human oriented/ service scheme and doesn’t look on the basis of caste, creed, gender, religion etc. Around 2.77 lakh families would be getting benefits from the PMJAY in the state, he added. However, he mentioned, there are lot of families of the state which are not being included in the SECC data. Such families are being covered under the state government initiative CMHT, he added. The chief minister reiterated that recently the health centres of the country is being converted into health and wellness centres with an objective of disease prevention, health promotion and improving human lives in the country. He stated that the state government has also launched various human oriented schemes/initiatives such as CMST, CMHT etc. for the welfare of the poor people of the state.

Around 20 children affected by malaria in Tripura subdivision
Ambassa: The decease of malaria has taken the hilly hamlets of Tripura in its grip as at least 20 children have admitted into hospital along with paramilitary jawans in the bordering subdivision of Gandacharra in the malaria drug-resistant northern Tripura district of Dhalai here recently. According to the information, the tribal dominated hilly hamlets in the bordering subdivision have been remained under the grip of malaria recently. At least 20 children and some jawans of Tripura States Rifles (TSR) have been admitted into the subdivisional hospital with malaria and many more people with malaria have been reported to be taking treatment from quacks. But the hospital has been suffering from the lack of health staffs. Moreover, due to the intensive vaccination of Measles-Rubella a considerable number of employees have been deployed there and as a result, the doctors and staffs on duty have been passing very tough times. However, no incident of death has been reported so far and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) has assured of having all preparations and precautionary measure. (UNI)

Ayushman Bharat covers 25 lakh people of Tripura : Biplab
Agartala: Taking part in the nationwide launching of Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) on Sunday here Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb announced that about 25 lakh people out of the total population of 37 lakh would be getting the benefit out of it in the state. After formal launching of the program by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Ranchi, Deb accompanied by Governor of Tripura Kaptan Singh Solanki and Health Minister Sudip Roy Barman dedicated the scheme for the people of the state in a mega event organised at Children’s Park here. Addressing the gathering Deb said the Modi led government undertook the scheme in as a mission to ensure sharing of equal healthcare benefit to the poor people of the country, as healthcare cost has been getting expensive everyday and about 70 per cent of the country could not afford to avail the best treatment due to money.
