Several injured in accidents
On September 22 around 10 am, one tempo (ML-08D-4846) met with an accident at Chandamari village in West Garo Hills. One occupant of the tempo sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Debashish Sharma (27) and Rishikesh Das (28) sustained injuries after their motorcycle crashed at Lad Sharai near Sumer. Both victims were transported to Umsning CHC by an Umsning-based 108 ambulance.
Smart Marak (30) sustained injuries after his motorcycle collided head on with another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction at Megapgre. Marak was taken to Williamnagar Civil Hospital by a Williamnagar-based 108 ambulance.
In a hit and run case, a 12-year-old girl identified as Kisme Sangma was run over by a speeding Maruti 800 at Narenggre. The child was taken to Rongjeng CHC by a Rongjeng-based 108 ambulance.

Fraud
Elmora Sangriang lodged a complaint stating that Wofer Syngkly (26) fraudulently cheated her of Rs 15,500 by promising to provide her a job as a security guard at NEHU in Mawlai.
Phibanrisa Wankhar of Raj Bhavan compound lodged a complaint stating that on September 6, she had received an e-mail regarding an online job abroad and was required to deposit a certain amount for Visa clearance and other formalities. The complainant deposited Rs 69,000 on September 11, Rs 89,000 on September 14 and Rs 5 lakh on September 18. On September 20, the complainant was again asked to deposit Rs 5 lakh in different bank accounts.

Theft
Lalfakzuali lodged a complaint stating that on September 21 around 6:30 pm, unknown miscreants stole two cell-phones, Rs 3,000 cash and blankets from her residence at Madanrting.

 Thief apprehended
On September 22 around 4:00pm, Bhola Rai (25) was apprehended while attempting to steal fencing wire valued at Rs 3,000 at Mawblei. Rai’s accomplice managed to escape.

Threat
Hetelsine S Sangma lodged a complaint stating that Marthy Anthony W Momin of Bangsi A’pal village in North Garo Hills had threatened her with dire consequences and burnt the school uniform of her seventeen year old son who was staying with the accused since childhood.
