SHILLONG: The State Programme Implementation and Monitoring Committee, which reviews road projects in the state, has laid emphasis on more project proposals under the Centre’s inter-state connectivity programme.
Chairman of the committee Saleng Sangma lamented that Meghalaya has not proposed many road projects under the schemes which ensure 100 percent funding from the Centre.
The committee recently discussed about several road projects in the state in a meeting. It also took note of the dilapidated NH-51 and 62 and raised the issue with the chief minister. He said that committee will soon call road implementing agencies for discussion on improvement of roads.
