Meghalaya Governor to grace International Conference on Gandhi

 GUWAHATI :Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy will inaugurate the International Conference on ‘Mahatma Gandhi’s Vision and Contemporary Political Leadership in North East India’ on October 5 next  at the University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM), according to a Press communique issued by the USTM.

The Governor agreed to the request of Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor of University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya, who visited the Raj Bhawan in Shillong on Saturday to welcome the Governor to the state of Meghalaya on behalf of the students and faculty of RIST and USTM, two premier educational institutions run by the ERD Foundation in Meghalaya.

The international conference is being organised by the International Centre for Gandhian Studies, a constituent of USTM, on October  5 and 6 on the occasion of the celebration of 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation. Eminent Gandhain scholars and reputed academicians will participate in the conference.
