Ri Bhoi DC inaugurates three developmental schemes

NONGPOH: The Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi District, Rosetta Mary Kurbah on Tuesday inaugurated three developmental schemes at Umtung village in the District.
The three developmental schemes which were inaugurated include Umtung Water Supply Scheme, Solid Waste Management Project and a Basketball Court.
Kurbah, who is also the Chairman of District Water & Sanitation Mission (DWSM), while addressing the gathering, lauded the cooperation rendered by the villagers and the leaders for properly implementing the schemes being provided by the government for the welfare of the people.
A programme on cleanliness under the Swacchata Hi Seva was also conducted.
The DC expressed happiness to witness the active participation of the local people towards making cleanliness a part of their daily lives, not just in their own homes but the village as a whole.
The programme was also attended by D.D Umdor, Executive Engineer (EE), PHE Nongpoh Division, R. Kharumnuid, headman of Umtung village, S Lyngdoh, EE, PHE, Umsning Division, S Snaitang, SDO  PHE, Umroi Sub-division, Mrs A Shangpliang, District Coordinator of SBM and others besides the local populace at large.
During the day long programme, a debate and singing competition was also organised with the active participation of the local youths and the women of the village.
