TURA: Much to the relief of courier services customers in Tura, service providers have been directed to adhere to the standards of service and ensure home delivery of all parcels ordered with a warning of action as per the provisions of law in case of failure to comply with the same.

The order issued by the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner comes following Raksamgre MLA, Benedic Marak’s request to the official to look into the matter, after complaints were received from many customers who alleged that service providers like Blue Dart, DTDC and Delivery etc were refusing to deliver ordered items and insisting customers themselves collect the same.

Customers of the town have since long expressed dissatisfaction over the manner in which service providers have been functioning, although many have not taken the time to file an official complaint. The new order issued by the deputy commissioner will be a welcome relief to customers who have had to bear the inconveniences for so long.

The order comes into immediate effect and shall be applicable to the entire jurisdiction of West Garo Hills.
