Jaintia body for fresh tender to run PHC canteen

KHLIEHRIAT: Members of the MPUF-EJHD (Meghalaya peoples’ United Front-East Jaintia Hills District) met the medical officer of PHC Pamra Paithlu, East Jaintia Hills demanding the officer to remove a Nepali woman who is running a canteen inside the PHC premises.
The organisation under the leadership of Michal Chyrmang along with D Wanmi Laloo and Aimonbha Syad spoke with the Medical Officer Dr. F A Lamin who promised them that their demand will be met and a fresh tender will be called for opening a canteen at the PHC.
The medical officer informed that, at present a new building is under construction and once the building is completed a tender will be put up for anyone who wants to open a canteen here. The association said that it will wait till the new building is completed, and even after that, if the Nepali woman still continues to run the canteen, it will not keep quite but will fight for her replacement.
