CM fetes photographers on World Tourism Day

SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday presented certificates of appreciation to some local photographers during a function organised to mark World Tourism Day.
As part of the celebration, which was organised on the theme ‘Tourism and Digital Transformation’, the Tourism Department and the Meghalaya Rural Tourism Forum took the opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of local photographers who have posted pictures of various natural scenic locales on social media platforms. The forum whose members are based in some of these places have benefited from such postings since these photographs have been forwarded and shared by thousands and many have even gone viral evoking interest among tourists.
Photographers who were given the certificates were Andrew Davidson Pariat, Peter Elford Thankhiew, Arridapha Shullai, Ian K Lyngdoh, B.S Syngkrem, Lucas Pohti, Debraj Chakraborty, Subhadip Choudhury, Calvin Lyngdoh and Wan Majaw.
