Italy, Netherland stalls attract buyers at Shillong Carnival

SHILLONG: The 13th International Shillong Shopping Carnival organised by ITFAA with the support of the state government continues to attract large crowd since it opened on September 22. The fair will continue till October 7.
The Shillong Shopping Carnival which is held at Madan Iew Rynghep, Laitumkhrah witnessed huge crowd marking the maiden participation of Italy in any trade fairs in the North East for their quality, variety and uniqueness.
At Italy pavilion, most of the products are painstakingly handmade locally. Some of the products come from a small village near the Vatican City.
To help keep the traditional art of hand weaving alive in Italy, Fasco Vof Europe, sells its products at reasonable prices and these are exclusively available in the ongoing Carnival.
Some of the important products available at the pavilion are six dimensional Christian home designs and traditional Italian art woven Christian worship designs.
The Netherland pavilion is also selling high quality MaxPosh Europe blankets. MaxPosh is the only luxury brand in Netherlands who sell rabbit wool blankets and are known for their quality worldwide.
Dorothy Lyngdoh, a housewife who was visiting the carnival with her family to buy some Italian and Netherland products, said, “I am so excited to buy some six dimensional photo frames on the lives of Jesus Christ which have been imported directly from Vatican city”.
The visitors also thronged Thailand, Bangladesh, South Africa and Afghanistan stalls to buy gift items with unique design and refinement.
The food court area with life-size 3D cutouts of football superstars like Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar and Bappe has turned into a popular selfie zone for the young and old.
