SHILLONG: The BSF conducted Swachh Bharat Pakhwara-Swachhta Hi Sewa on Sunday ahead of Gandhi Jayanti which is on Tuesday. The drive was conducted in several parts of the city, and at its headquarters in Shillong and Tura.
In Shillong, the BSF personnel along with the locals cleaned neighbourhoods like Polo (near Kali Mandir), Laitumkhrah, Police Bazar and Mawpat.
Awareness programmes, workshops and other programmes on cleanliness were also conducted by the security forces.Similar programmes were also organised by the BSF in other parts of the state, a statement issued here said.
