Leadership Training Service organises annual gathering

SHILLONG: The Leadership Training Service (LTS) organised ‘Sangam’, an annual gathering of the LTS student members, at Sacred Heart Theological College in Mawlai on Sunday.
It is a platform for students from various schools to take part and interact with one another. It is considered an important event as students can showcase their talents and benefit from various organised activities. Personality development, enhancing leadership skills, bringing about social awareness, and social responsibility that leads to social development are the main objectives of LTS. The theme for this year’s gathering was ‘Leadership Requires a Ladder of Commitment’.
Kymen Shylla, Minister In-charge of Social Welfare was the chief guest and Embhahlang Syiemlieh, Ex-MLA, MDC Mawlai Constituency was the guest of honour.
While addressing the students Shylla said, “It is essential to identify and develop leaders among youth which is the key agenda of the LTS. Leader should climb the ladders of commitment,” while adding that there are many inspirational stories in this country be it political, social, economic, and the students must be motivated by these stories.
Besides, the cultural programme, the students also had sessions by Dr. Tanya Sur Roy, the Assistant Professor of Education and Aninam Dhkar, Assistant Professor of MSW both from Assam Don Bosco University.
The programme concluded with the felicitation of the outgoing LTS Co- ordinators Bro. Adani Mathew Pfoze and Bro. Francis Kujur.
