East Bengal to play matches in Malaysia ahead of I-League

Kolkata: City soccer giants East Bengal will play atleast two pre-season friendlies in Kuala Lumpur ahead of the upcoming I-League season, a statement from the club said on Friday. The red and gold brigade, who failed to retain their Calcutta Football League crown for a record ninth time in a row, will first take on UiTMFC on Sunday followed by UKMFC three days later. Both these outfits play in the Malaysian Premier League. The preseason training is taking place at the MSN Sports Complex and will continue till October 22. The club is trying to arrange a few more friendly matches during their stay in Malaysia, the statement added. (IANS)
