Firemen thanked for their services

Shillong: To show gratitude and acknowledge the sacrifices of fire fighters, the Students Affairs Committee of Martin Luther Christian University visited the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Shillong on Friday.
This event is a kick-starter for the University Week, Aurora 2018, which will be held from October 8-13.
The students and faculty members of the Students Affairs Committee performed songs and a skit to entertain the officers and staff of the Department of F&ES where mementos were also presented to the  department and the staff.
Chemphang Syrti, SP of the Department, John Swer, DSP other officers and staff of the department were present during the event.
The HoD of Psychology, MLCU, M Kyndiah also conducted a stress management session for the fire fighters.
Speaking during the event, Syrti expressed thanks to the visitors adding that in all the years of his service, it is the first time any organisation or institution has shown such appreciation and gratitude to the department.
Alvin Mathew, faculty from the Department of Psychology spoke briefly about the courage of the fire fighters and how we as a society should always be grateful for their services.
