Fraud
Elhanan Kharkongor, Senior District Manager, Bata India Ltd., lodged a complaint that on October 5, one Bibhuti Bhusan Deb, Store Manager of Bata, Keating Road, Shillong, cheated and criminally breached the trust of the company by misappropriating stocks amounting to Rs 4,55,655, cash of Rs 6,731 and electricity bill of Rs 2,69,000.
Body found
On October 5 morning, the body of one Tegen K Marak (35) was found at Ampati Bazaar (SWGH). Necessary formalities were observed and the body was handed over to the relatives.
Assault
On October 4, one Deplin Lyngdoh Mawnai assaulted Shanbor Mawlong at Khrohbah Langtor village in West Khasi Hills, injuring him. The victim was later admitted at TSM Hospital, Mairang and the matter is being inquired.
