5 injured in separate road accidents

SHILLONG/NONGSTOIN: Five persons were injured in separate accidents across the state on Sunday.
A teenager sustained minor injuries when the car she was travelling in was hit by a truck at Shyrwang near Mairang on Sunday.
Aitihun Umiong (18) was shifted to Mairang Civil Hospital by 108 Ambulance after first aid. The incident happened around 7.45 am.
M R Mebanshan Suting (18) met with an accident when a truck he was travelling in skidded and overturned at Mawkhanu near Mawryngkneng along Shillong Bypass Toll Gate around 9.30 pm. He suffered minor injuries and was shifted to NEIGRIHMS by 108 Bhoirymbong ambulance.
Prabhu Sharma (28) met with an accident when his bike skidded on the Mawtnum main road around 6 am. He suffered injuries and was shifted to Nongpoh Civil Hospital by 108 Ambulance.
Gaurav Saha (21) and Rahul Sunar (21) on a two-wheeler met with an accident after they were trying to overtake another bike and lost control and plunged into an 80-foot deep gorge at Ryndangbriew around 10.20 am. Both the victims sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong by 108 Shillong-based ambulance.
Toddler among four injured in accident
Four persons including a toddler were injured when a truck hit their vehicle in West Khasi Hills on Sunday morning. Around 8:30 am, one local taxi driven by Lostarwell Umiong (25) of Mawlait Mawriat was hit by one LP truck driven by Shanbor Lyngdoh (34) of Lyngkhoi Pdengshnong village at Shyrwang.
The injured persons are Siria Mary Wanniang (23), Edistar Wanniang (5), Aitihun Umiong (18) and Edmund Wansiang (24). The victims were shifted to Tirot Sing Memorial Hospital Mairang. The truck which fled away the scene was intercepted at Nongshillong.
