Agatha chief of state climate change panel

SHILLONG: Former NPP legislator Agatha Sangma has been appointed as the chairperson of the Meghalaya State Council on Climate Change and Sustainable Development.
The council has no members.
Agatha, who is under A+ category in terms of availing perks and allowances, is one among the political appointees who were accommodated by the NPP-led MDA government.
The state government has already spent over Rs 71 lakh on political appointees. The latest political appointee was former Congress leader DD Lapang.
