Heroin seized, one held
Police on Tuesday arrested a person identified as Kennstar Sungoh and recovered more than 15 grams of suspected heroin. The accused was travelling in a local taxi ML-05-8450 at Umpling Dongshaneng in the city. The police seized one soap case containing 15.76 grams of yellowish-orange powder suspected to be heroin from his possession.

Body recovered
On October 3 around 12 pm, a decomposed body of Allan Sawian (28) of Mawlong village was retrieved from river at Pungmakai, East Khasi Hills. The deceased was reportedly missing and is believed to have been drowned on September 29.

Theft
Bibika Boro lodged a complaint that on October 8 around 2.30 pm, a miscreant snatched her mobile phone at Demthring Madanrting in the city.
Kapil Koje lodged a complaint that on October 6, miscreants stole his motorcycle (AS-01-BE-5392) from near a Masjid at Lower Lumparing, Shillong.
Donkupar Blah lodged a complaint that on October 4 around 11.55 pm, miscreants broke into a weighbridge at Borsora and stole one computer and one printer machine.

Assaulted
A 22-year-old man identified as Shalming Lyngdoh was assaulted by his own friend for unknown reasons at Baniun around 9 pm. The victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong by 108 Laitumkhrah based ambulance.

FIR
Laxman Chettri of Hallidayganj in West Garo Hills lodged a complaint that on September 16 around 1.30 pm, one Bolero pick-up (AS-17C-1025) was detected transporting boulders illegally at Dhanua-Pipulbari area.
